Biography
Born and raised a Texan native, Garan Charles is a singer/songwriter who has always had a love for singing and entertaining. He started out singing at the age of five in the local Baptist Church, began piano lessons at age eleven, and voice lessons at age of thirteen. Once in high school, Charles was in variety of activities including athletics, school plays, and band, where he played the trumpet. Charles continued to nurture his love of music in college at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. During that time he toured with, then, up and coming artist Trent Willman to New Mexico, Texas, and Florida with the Country Caravan as the headliner, performing an Elvis medley. He performed on local television in Levelland featuring local artists and performed vocals and keyboard with an ensemble at the Texas State Fair in Dallas. He has performed for the Trinity Broadcasting Network and has been involved with the Cactus Theatre in Lubbock, Tx as well as a performance on the Johnny High Show in Arlington, Tx. Outside of school, he played keyboard and was lead singer with a band performing both country and Christian music. Charles has recorded several demos, which features songs that he has written or co-written. Currently, Charles resides in Crosbyton, Tx with his wife, Chanda and their four children. He is the praise and worship leader for the Family Harvest Church located in Plainview, Tx. He continues to write both country and contemporary Christian praise and worship music in his studio, Anointed Day Recording.
