The influence of the late Eddy Arnold extends far and wide, and he is credited with helping spread country music to mass audiences through his many hit recordings. Now the artist known to fans as the Tennessee Plowboy will get a tribute as diverse as his legacy.
On May 14, 2013 Plowboy Records—the label co-founded by Eddy’s grandson Shannon Pollard—released You Don’t Know Me: Rediscovering Eddy Arnold to celebrate the Country Music Hall of Famer’s 70 years in music. The release coincides with what would have been Eddy’s 95th birthday on May 15.
Produced by punk legend Cheetah Chrome (of the Dead Boys) and historian/author Don Cusic, You Don’t Know Me includes performances by Alejandro Escovedo, Lambchop, Bobby Bare Jr., Jason Isbell, Mary Gauthier and others.
