Biography
Deanna is an independent piano composer and artist living in the Pacific Northwest. She’s been playing since around age 4, with classical training from age 9. She started composing music as a child yet she’s always been really shy about "being talented." She continued to write music through her teens (very novice attempts).
During her college years, She focused on engineering and fine art. Deanna graduated with a BA in Fine Art, cum laude, from Western Washington University in 1993. Deanna recorded her first project "Simplicity when she was studying dental hygiene at Clark College. She loved to test out her compositions at the Jantzen Beach Safeway, taking breaks from her stressful and intense dental hygiene studies at Clark College, WA. Imagine playing on a grand piano placed in the middle of a grocery store Delie/veggie section. She actually had fun and earned a little spending money along the way! Creating music at 3:00 am in the morning helped give her gain sanity and relaxation through those intense years in dental hygiene school. Music has a way of saving us all in so many different ways.
Deanna’s newest project, Beacon of Light, is an inspired celebration of her recent spiritual journey and feeling a strong connection with the holy spirit. She’s been connecting with people all around the world via the internet, itunes, and cdbaby.com. Recently, she has gained attention from Granite Publishing in Utah to distribute her work to the LDS market around the world.
The best way to describe the contemporary instrumental music is "beautiful heartfelt piano based melodies with musical influences of New Age, pop and Americana; An uplifting, spiritual and musical journey."
