Hang Out A Light For Me is Dave Evans’ first gospel effort since his 1982 LP
A Few More Seasons. The album is nicely produced by Don Rigsby, who also joins Evans on mandolin and vocals. Others helping out are Scottie Sparks, Ray Craft, Mike Bub (bass) and Hunter Berry on fiddle. Three Evans originals are strong, especially the title song, and there are solid versions of classics like “Give Mother My Crown,” “The Darkest Hour is Just Before Dawn,” “The Man in the Middle” and “Mansions For Me.”
