Biography
The Cutaway Crossing story:
Believe in music!
Cutaway Crossing is five Midwestern guys who all share an incredible passion for living life, creating, and playing great music. Their motivation is singular and simple - passion! "If you don't have passion - you've got nothin'! If you're not passionate about what you're doin', just stop doin' it!"
CUTAWAY:
The name "Cutaway Crossing" represents the origins and the essence of the band. All of their tunes are developed on acoustic guitars - the majority being cutaways.
Also, playing together is the band's reason for "cutting away" from what they normally do, day in, and day out.
CROSSING:
Cutaway Crossing's music is a "crossing" of a number of influences, genres, textures, and years of very different experiences crossing back and forth across the US. There ya have it. Cutaway Crossing!
Their Sound:
They've consistently been compared to Whiskeytown. Think about combining The Old 97s, Tom Petty, The Steve Miller Band & The Eagles...
Cutaway Crossing's debut album "This Exit" released in the Fall of 2008 and features 11 original up-tempo, acoustic-driven tracks from the band. Nine of the eleven tunes were written by Woody Bendle. The other two (Knock Me Down & Luckenbach Today) were written by Bendle's former Atomic Wood band mate and Dallas resident, Adam K. Zoellner.
The guys from Cutaway Crossing are having a ball right now gigging, promoting their new CD and sharing their own version of acoustic-driven, Alt-County / Americana music! "Come on by and check us out!"
Independent reviews of Cutaway Crossing's debut album continue to extremely favorable! Check out the band's MySpace page for a listing of these reviews!
