Benny and Vallie Cain were a husband and wife vocal duo. Originally from Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, they settled in the Washington, D.C. area in 1950. Over the next three decades they kept a busy schedule gigging in the D.C. area clubs, restaurants and at outdoor events which helped to popularize Bluegrass in the greater Washington area. There were many band members over the years who are well known such as Bill Emerson, Don Stover, Scotty Stoneman, Roni Stoneman, Pete Kuykendall and Tom Gray.
Benny & Vallie Cain & The Country Clan is the first of two albums the band recorded for Rebel Records.
