Biography

From the heart of the world-renowned Silicon Valley comes the soulful music of Avery Stafford. He says, Taking the gospel of Jesus Christ and wrapping it in music is what I want to do. I was made for this is declared in one of my favorite songs. I have been singing since I was two years old. When I was old enough to realize what God had done for me by sending his Son, I knew what I wanted to do. I want to take the Gospel to the world through music.

His current INDIE album project, Undignified, has recently been reviewed as being the most innovative vocal performance since Marvin Gayes 'Whats Going On record. It is seasoned with R&B, Gospel, and Contemporary Urban flavors. Producers and musicians for this project have worked with Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Little Richard, Ambrosia, Rolls Royce, Ohio Player, Frank Zappa, and Quincy Jones, just to name a few. The single "How Sweet Is It (2b loved by You!)" is receiving lots of club spins on dance floors throughout the U.S. Bookworld Music of Sarasota, FL distributes Undignified worldwide.

Stafford, a native Californian, has recorded four albums. In 2001, Avery was selected as one of the MP3.coms top Gospel artists. The title song Bridges peaked at number 11 on the MP3.com Christian Pop charts and number 15 on the Spiritual Pop charts. In 2004, he performed for Blackmon Enterprises Gospel Hit-Breakers Showcase in N. Hollywood, the Urban Gospel Alliance New Artist Showcase at the Riverside Convention Center, and he headlined the West Coast Praze Show in Hollywood. Averys song Hold On is featured on the 2004 UGA Compilation CD. Currently, radio stations throughout the United States and abroad are giving regular airplay to Get My Praise On and How Sweet It Is (2b loved by You!).

Hailed as a delicious lesson in vocal harmony, Avery has a Bachelors degree in Christian Ministry from Abilene Christian University and a Masters degree in Pastoral Studies from Multnomah Biblical Seminary. He currently serves on staff as Worship Pastor for Valley Church in Cupertino, CA.
