Pinecastle Records is thrilled to announce the release of Ashleigh Graham's highly anticipated new single, “Head Over High Heels.” The track was written by acclaimed songwriters/artists Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Shaye Smith. It marks Graham’s second Bluegrass release with Pinecastle and is now available on all digital and streaming platforms.
“Head Over High Heels” is an upbeat Bluegrass tune that showcases Graham’s energetic vocals and captivating style. This release follows the success of her debut Bluegrass single, “Bless Your Little Heart,” and further establishes her as a rising star in the Bluegrass scene. The song is filled with catchy melodies and relatable lyrics that are sure to resonate with fans. Both singles were produced by Stephen Burwell of Authentic Unlimited and feature musicians like Eli Johnston, John Meador and Kameron Keller.
“So many love songs today convey heartache and sadness. ‘Head Over High Heels’ is the more expressive female version of Lester Flatt’s ‘Head Over Heels,’” says Ashleigh. “I wanted a love song that conveyed the happy side of falling in love. True love isn’t black and white, but in color when you allow yourself to be loved. Love is a risk, but that’s what makes it beautiful; you have to dive in headfirst to experience it as intended.”
In addition to releasing new music, the mandolin extraordinaire has also assembled her brand new band, Ashleigh Graham & Appalachian Highway, featuring Chad Darou on banjo and dobro, Scott Patrick on guitar, Sarah Larson on fiddle and Ronnie Parker on bass. Together, they bring a fresh, dynamic sound to the stage, blending traditional Bluegrass with contemporary flair. Bluegrass enthusiasts will have the opportunity to catch them performing live for the very first time next month during IBMA’s World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, N.C.
Music has been a lifelong passion for Graham, who began performing at regional festivals across the Southeast during her youth. After a brief hiatus to start a family, she returned to the music industry, releasing an Inspirational Gospel project in 2020. Her journey continues with this latest release and the formation of her new band, promising exciting things on the horizon. 2024 has been a year of growth, and 2025 promises to be even more exciting!
