They were awarded first place bluegrass band in the International Championship contest for the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music Association (SPBGMA) held in Nashville, Tennessee in 1987. They were nominated for a Grammy in 1990 for Best Bluegrass Recording.

The band is still active playing their brand of traditional bluegrass and Gospel music.
