Biography
Ok, here we go! My name is Andreas Silver (Yes it is, and have always been my real name, not just my artist name!), I’m 32 years old and a country music artist from Sweden. I’ve always like singing. I did my first “big” performance in 1989 (11 years old). It was on a talent contest with a big crowd. I ended up second. In my school time I often sang before the school breaks. I also was a member in the church quire for a period. The first time that I sang a song with an English lyric in front of an audience was in my age of 17. I thought then that I could handle the english well enough to sing it. It was in front of the whole school and of course I sang a country song! After my school time I was the singer in a local band for 3 years. It was a very learn full time and that of course gave me much stage experience. Year 2000 I participated in a TV-show called “Reach For The Stars”. I did the super artist Garth Brooks and the song “The Dance”. I won the first final and ended up fifth in the big final. After that I was signed to the record company Bonnier Music, and my first full length album came in year 2002. It was released with a big advertising campaign on national TV, radio and newspaper interviews, record signing tour, live performances on national TV… It almost sold almost 15.000 copies. (Not many debut acts are selling that in Sweden.) So in 2003 we went for my second record. I and Bonnier did a research for song material. We got hundreds of songs to choose from, and we picked 12. Many of them are written of well known songwriters in Nashville. The recording has been done in Sidelake Studios, studio A (www.sidelake.com), and the producer is Micke Öhlén. It’s a very high quality production with live instrument and musician professionals. So the record is recorded. The thing that’s still remaining is the mastering, and the release! Some of the recent: In the summer of 2007 I was the final act at on of the biggest country festivals in Sweden, Lida Country Festival (Stockholm). Also that summer I was the first Scandinavian artist performing at the pre-opening event for the biggest country festival in the world(!), CMA Music Festival, in Nashville. The event is called “AristoMedia Global Acoustic Afternoon” (in association with CMA). That was a great moment!
