“Ordinary Miracles” is a prayer and a love song to that great and infinite spirit which dwells within and around us, and reveals its presence in our everyday experience.

Writer: Susan Shann, ASCAP
Publisher, PRO: Mystics Mantra Music, ASCAP
“Price on Heaven (Song for Bristol Bay)” speaks to the fact that some things are far too precious to squander for short-term profit, and that you can’t “put a price on Heaven”. The song has won two awards to date, including First Place in Musicians United International Song Contest 2017, and Second Place in the Connecticut Environmental Song Contest 2016.
3. Earth Mama (3:48)

Publisher, PRO: Mooselodge Music, ASCAP
Another song portraying my love for Mother Earth, my respect for the indigenous people who were here long before the white man, and my desire to live in peace and balance with all people and with creation.

4. Impossible Beauty (3:47)
Writer: Susan Shann, ASCAP
Publisher, PRO: Mystics Mantra Music, ASCAP
There are moments in life when we catch a glimpse of the divine, when the veil parts and we see beyond our normal experience, into a deeper level of being. This song was inspired by one of those moments.
5. Homemade Lovin’ (2:45)
Writer: Susan Shann, ASCAP
Publisher, PRO: Mystics Mantra Music, ASCAP
“Homemade Lovin’” is a fun, tongue-in-cheek romp letting my would-be paramour know that, while I may not be the stay-at-home or old-fashioned kind of girl, I’ve got something even better...
6. Wild Seed (4:25)

An ode to the wandering heart, “Wild Seed” is a requiem for a relationship that can never be.
7. Helluva Ride (2:14)
Writer: Susan Shann, ASCAP

Stealing a bit of influence from the golden age of the jazz / pop standard, "Helluva Ride" is a lighthearted “fare-thee-well” from the one moving on to the one being left behind.
8. Reckless Abandon (5:10)
Writer: Susan Shann, ASCAP
Publisher, PRO: Mystics Mantra Music, ASCAP
This is a song of longing and wistful remembrance of the way it once was, of the Reckless Abandon" once shared between two people who have grown apart.
9. Window (3:26)
Writer: Susan Shann, ASCAP
Publisher, PRO: Mystics Mantra Music, ASCAP
“Window” is about those opportunities that come along to change and “open up” our lives, and slip away just as quickly if we’re not paying attention.
10. Stand Down (3:44)
Writer: Susan Shann, ASCAP
Publisher, PRO: Mooselodge Music, ASCAP
“Stand Down” is a depiction of the soldier returning from active duty in the military, only to face another kind of battle at home with PTSD, depression, addiction, and the many kinds of issues that come with exposure to the ravages of war. Some get the help they need, but far too many do not.
11. The Final Word (Is Gonna Be Love) (4:48)
Writer: Susan Shann, ASCAP
Publisher, PRO: Mooselodge Music, ASCAP
With the recognition that we MUST learn to get along, and that we are ALL immigrant sons and daughters in this country (unless we are descendants of the first people), “The Final Word (Is Gonna Be Love)” was inspired by a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King: “I refuse to accept the premise that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war, that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.” And so it is.
BIOGRAPHY
A native of North Jersey, Susan first picked up the guitar in her teens and began composing her own songs, becoming a regular in clubs and coffeehouses there for several years. She earned a highest honors music education degree from Montclair State University, but eventually left teaching to to follow that songwriting passion to Nashville, TN in 2004.
Since then she has continued to write and perform both solo and with bands, has been a choir director and arranger at the Center for Spiritual Living Nashville, has been a regular guest with world-famous western swing band “The Time Jumpers”, has won several song contests, and has completed three more full-length albums; "Illumination" (2009), “Rhythm of the Road”, with Grammy-winning producer Bil Vorndick (2016), and “Reckless Abandon” (2018).
Susan's songs have also been recorded by other artists. One of these, “You Reap What You Sow”, reached #1 on the Folk chart in Nov. 2017 and recently spent over 21 weeks on the Grassicana chart for artist Mara Levine.
Above all, it is her passion for earth-care and social justice issues that drives Susan to be a messenger through music, a champion for peace, for the cause of a world that works for all, and for the magnificent and ever-renewing power of spirit which dwells within and around us all.
Susan is preparing to tour in 2019. Her songs can be heard and downloaded from her website (susanshann.com) and from all major online distributors.
