Slow Children on a Fast Track to Success!

Los Angeles, California – September 15, 2009 – In a transient, impersonal world where sex, drugs, and Rock ‘n Roll rules, it is a breath of fresh air to meet a band whose past, present and future speak to their dedication to not only each other, but also to their vision of the music they create. Meet the band, Slow Children. Although they currently claim Las Vegas as their home, the word “home” is truly a misnomer, as the band is only really at-home in Oregon, which takes us back to the early days where the threesome grew up together in a small town. With [Caleb] Moffit’s dad as their music teacher in school, the foundation for their love of music was kindled from an early age. And with guidance like that along the way, it’s no wonder that they have stuck together, more like a family than a “band of three guys.” Through “thick and thin,” they have stayed best friends ever since.

Having performed as the opening act for Floaters (another Oregon band of similar genre), at venues such as The McDonald Theater in Eugene, Oregon, and The Showbox in Seattle, to crowds sometimes numbering in the thousands, Slow Children is on its way to forging a name for itself. The band’s blend of Acoustic, Hard-Rock, and Alternative flavors keep listeners wanting more, as their sound is never boring. When you ask them what their music sounds like, they say they don’t want to be pigeonholed into one genre or another, but rather play their music with varying interpretations depending upon their moods.

With their first album, "Life in ReVerie" (2009), under their belts, Slow Children is now busy recording their sophomore album. Caleb remarks, “Now that we have released an album that’s indicative of our style, we want to hone our music even further and so we’re taking our music to the next level. Our goal right now is to meet and play for as many of our fans as possible, ever-widening our reach.” Being firmly entrenched on the West Coast, their immediate plans include touring the Midwest, and eventually doing a national tour.

You can catch Slow Children this month in Las Vegas at House of Blues and The Hard Rock Café, as well as at numerous other venues around town. For a complete list of upcoming shows, please go to MySpace.com/SlowChildrenLV/.
