Albuquerque, NM- December 15, 2010- Shelley Morningsong (N.Cheyenne) is back with her new album “Full Circle” which may prove to be the best new Native American contemporary record of the year.
Morningsong’s debut album in 2006 titled “Out of the Ashes” was a refreshing surprise to the world of Native Music. “Out of the Ashes” won three prestigious awards soon after its release including; the New Mexico Music Award for “Best Native Contemporary Music”, the Wisconsin Indian Summer Festival for “Classic Rock” and the Native American Music Awards out of New York for “Debut Artist of the Year.”
Now, four years later Morningsong has done it again.
Shelley Morningsong, along side Grammy award winning producer Larry Mitchell and her husband Fabian Fontenelle (Zuni, Omaha) have delivered an outstanding new recording. Morningsong’s ability to fuse together traditional Native American instrumentation with a main stream sound is something her fans old and young alike love and admire about her music.
“Full Circle” features Shelley’s soulful and heart gripping vocals that will delight, inspire and move even the coldest hearts. Morningsong states “I feel like I’ve grown so much in the past four years. My new songs reflect a more raw and honest message about my deepest feelings on certain subjects”. Her highly personal yet universal writing style manifests in this new recording.
