BIOGRAPHY:

SOLDIER is the new release from Canadian artist MARIKA. It marks a new era of MARIKA’s career to breakout on her own and do things her way. MARIKA previously had her first top 10 single with You Know I Will followed by another top 10 single RADIO which allowed for MARIKA to be nominated as Best New Urban artist at the Canadian Radio Music Awards. Since then MARIKA has gone on to have some of her songs released internationally by established artists, had numerous film and television placements on shows like America’s Next Top Model and MTV. Her single ANGEL was featured on Lifetime Movie Networks original movie “ Sins of a Mother” and she as well, has produced and developed artists under her own label Emerton Records Inc. Her performances span the globe from a 45 city tour of New Zealand, sharing the stage with Country Superstar Terri Clark for the 2010 Olympic Games Torch Relay in Alberta, as well as singing her Christmas single at MACY’s holiday Celebration in Seattle which saw about 30,000 people in the audience. She also shared the stage with Grammy award winning artists Michael W Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman, and Juno award winning artist Brian Doerksen. There are also Miss USA performances, as well as live television on networks like Global and CTV. Although her passion is performing for the people, she proves herself to be a proficient producer, an internationally recognized songwriter, and a communicator speaking at events for encouraging youth to business leaders, but her mindset for her career in this industry is limitless.

In 2011, MARIKA writes:
“ This is my year! I have had an amazing journey the past few years from learning from incredible people in the music industry. I have learned what it takes, I have learned how to write great songs from some of the best and seen great success from them, I have learned the business, and I have had my fair of wrong partnership and bad contracts as well as great celebrations and great successes. This time I’m leading my own career. I’m going back to what I love and that is making great music and performing for the people. It’s what I do best!”
