Biography

Joe Swank & The Zen Pirates performed at the clubs throughout the Triangle and on the outskirts with such area greats as The Backsliders, The Two Dollar Pistols, Tres Chicas & Kenny Roby (amongst many others) from 2002 to 2008. All the while, attempting to record the songs that were being performed all the way back in 2002. After no less than 3 false starts, the band finally hit their collective stride at Rick Miller’s Kudzu Ranch Studios in the summer of 2008. After a weekend of overdubs and some serious long-distance mixing, the record HANK WILLIAMS DIED FOR MY SINS will finally be released on 11/10.
