The Florin Street Band is the Victorian-themed creation of British composer Leigh Haggerwood. The band of 36 musicians was originally brought together to record My Favourite Time of Year and features the voices of The English Chamber Choir. Recorded at legendary producer Trevor Horn's studios, this song is a return to traditional Christmas song-writing with it's heart-warming lyrics and melodies, and powerful choral ending.

Sweeping the world

The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" were so impressed with the song that they requested permission to perform it with their choir and orchestra at prestigious events at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washing D.C.My Favourite Time of Year has also become the theme to a national Christmas charity event on British network TV. Thousands of schools, colleges, churches, orchestras and choirs have been performing the song at their Christmas concerts, and many people are describing it as a future classic.

Victorian Music Videos

The video for My Favourite Time of Year was filmed at Blists Hill Victorian Town at Ironbridge in the heart of England – an authentic recreation of Victorian life in the UK. Such was the buzz surrounding this production, that hundreds of the industry’s top professionals offered their services. The video was directed by Nick Bartleet and features the skills of top Hollywood cinematographer John Perez – known for his work on Coldplay’s Viva La Vida and numerous videos by Beyoncé and Rihanna amongst others. The enchanting video was shot with a cast and crew of over 100 people and it is said to be the most ambitious and beautiful Christmas production ever made.

Winter Wonder

Due to the growing success of the first song and video, with millions of Youtube hits and numerous Facebook campaigns, Leigh Haggerwood has decided to create an entire Florin Street musical. Winter Wonder is the first song from the musical, which is due to be released in 2014. The song is a joyous, upbeat celebration of the festive season with another stunning Victorian music video to accompany it. We sincerely hope that you will embrace the songs and support this independant project which aims to bring some magic back to the festive season and a return to heart-felt, traditional Christmas songwriting.
