Biography
Believe it or not, The Del Ripleys have successfully fused all of the best elements of seemingly disparate roots music styles into an amazingly fresh sound while remaining faithful to the essential core of the music they draw upon.

Featuring Bobby Rivera's hot-rod, reverb drenched guitars, Jim Billmeier's thumping upright bass, Brian Kreuziger's driving drums and the red-hot vocals of Pauline York, the Milwaukee and Chicago based Del Ripleys are a combo not to be missed. With unrivaled prowess and intensity, The Del Ripleys mix surf-infused rock 'n’ roll instrumentals with tasty and authentic jump blues, rockabilly and country vocal numbers into a genre-defying cocktail of fun.

After playing a slew of shows in Milwaukee and Chicago in early 2008, the band hunkered down in April to record its first record, “Leisurama!”. The record covers all the bases of the group’s expansive territory, featuring a mix of primarily original tunes with some covers. The record further features vocal and instrumental songs that remain true to the roots music this band loves while still achieving an original and modern sound. The record and the band defy any genre classification. Simply put, this is roots music at its finest.

The story of The Del Ripleys is wrapped up in the history of two different groups performing in music scenes that for the most part remain unfortunately segregated. Led by guitarist Bobby Rivera since the year 2000, the Milwaukee based group originally known as Bobby Rivera and the Rivieras has rocked dance-crazed audiences from the East Coast to the West Coast with their unique style of surf-based instrumentals. They have been featured on national radio broadcasts, television, and music festivals throughout the USA and abroad.

The years 2007 and 2008 brought significant changes to the personnel and sound of this band, culminating in the band changing its name to The Del Ripleys. In 2007, long time drummer Patrick Morrow left the band and was replaced by Brian Kreuziger. Also, Bobby had long sought an upright bass player and finally found one in Jim Billmeier of Chicago, Illinois, who was also a member of The Pauline York Band. The reformed trio then began seeking to add a singer/rhythm guitar player who would be able to allow the band to fulfill its desire to expand into further areas of roots music while simultaneously increasing its overall appeal. They found this person in Pauline York, who had a string of critically acclaimed records under her belt.
