Biography
The combination of veteran songwriter and entertainer Steve Hussey and 17 year old bluegrass virtuoso Jake Eddy is a formidable one. Originally hired to play on a few songs Steve recorded for his wedding, the project blossomed into an album that is as relevant as it is warm and sincere.
The album represents the journey through the wilderness of love, beginning as a lost soul but arriving transformed and delivered. The songs are dark, playful, and wistful by turns. The album takes its name from the track "The Miller Girl", a simple hymn of a tune about a young boy's crush on the girl that lives on "the next hill over."
Jake's banjo playing is featured throughout the album, although on this album he played mandolin, guitar, dobro, upright bass and sang backing vocals. The songs were all arranged by Steve and Jake together. All songs were written by Steve Hussey.
