Biography

Shirley was born in The Pas, a small town in northern Manitoba, Canada. She is the middle child of seven children. She began performing for family and friends at the age of nine and wrote her first song when she was eleven years old. At twelve, she won second place in a vocal competition at The Pas Trappers Festival, an annual event well known across Canada. It was there on a stage for the first time with only a piano to accompany her that she fell in love with performing for an audience.
