We will also be highlighting three of the most successful collections by some of the biggest artists who’ve cut records for the label. The Mac Wiseman Storypresents 20 of the seminal bluegrass star’s most requested songs. Meanwhile, The Merle Travis Story and The Jim and Jesse Story see these luminaries cutting then all-new recordings of 24 of their greatest hits apiece. These three albums are a must hear for multi-generational fans of bluegrass.
Wrapping up the month are three very different albums that step outside of the classic bluegrass and country genre. Train of Love is a one-of-a-kind tribute to the one and only Johnny Cash. The album is a rowdy blast of music, running the Man in Black’s classics through a roster of artists including MC5’s Wayne Kramer, biker badass Simon Stokes, country cult maverick Phil Lee, and more. Then we’ve got Boogaloo to Jack McDuff, featuring the most revered practitioners of the Hammond B-3 paying tribute to the unique organist and bandleader who changed jazz and funk. And we’re closing out with Standards, by Parliament-Funkadelic founding member Bernie Worrell, which finds the icon turning his keys loose on the titular theme with tracks like “Take the ‘A’ Train,” “You’re My Thrill,” and “Moon River.”
We know you and your audience are going to love the wide variety of music CMH Label Group has in store for you this month."
