NASHVILLE, TN (September 3, 2010) – AirPlay Direct is pleased to announce the addition of the new album, 'Vitamin String Quartet Performs Lady Gaga' to their database of broadcast quality music.

The digital pre-release of 'Vitamin String Quartet Performs Lady Gaga' was featured in iTunes’ “New & Noteworthy” section, debuted at #5 on Billboard’s Top Classical Crossover Albums chart and several tracks from the album simultaneously made the top 25 on Billboard’s Classical Digital Songs chart, all in the month of August.

The Vitamin String Quartet has been gaining momentum in mainstream popularity for over a decade. Their rendition of Coldplay’s “Yellow” appeared on the hit show, So You Think You Can Dance. That helped to drive the group to the iTunes’ “Top 100 Rock Chart.” “Yellow” has also appeared on the CW’s hot new series The Vampire Diaries. The quartet’s track on Disney’s Nightmare Revisited CD earned rave reviews when they were selected to appear on the album alongside performers such as Marilyn Manson, Amy Lee, Plain White T’s and DeVotchka.

In addition, CMH Label Group has uploaded many other titles to AirPlay Direct from their huge catalog, including the popular 'Pickin’ On' series, which features top bluegrass musicians performing tributes to such popular musical acts as Tom Petty, Van Halen, Willie Nelson and Metallica, among others. Collectively, the series has sold over one-and-a-half million albums since its inception.

“AirPlay Direct is a distributor with a strong understanding of our various labels’ needs. We’re confident that AirPlay Direct will enhance our catalog’s worldwide visibility,” says CMH Owner and President, David Haerle.

“This unique label group is a valuable addition to AirPlay Direct,” announces CEO, Robert Weingartz. “We pride ourselves in offering music from all genres, and this diverse collection of artists and releases truly demonstrates our commitment to provide radio with the widest selection of broadcast quality music available anywhere.”

The story of the CMH Label Group begins with bluegrass, but future chapters include metal, rap, punk, meditation, and children’s music. CMH founder, Martin Haerle, a former Starday and United Artist Records executive, grew up in Germany as a country western and bluegrass fan. Together with Arthur Smith of “Dueling Banjos” and “Guitar Boogie” fame, he formed CMH Records in 1975, and recorded first-generation bluegrass heroes Lester Flatt, Mac Wiseman, and the Osborne Brothers, as well as country music hall-of-famers Grandpa Jones and Merle Travis. In 1990, David Haerle became president of the label and created the “Pickin’ On” series, which features top bluegrass musicians performing tributes to such popular musical acts as Green Day and Metallica. Collectively, the series has sold over one-and-a-half million albums since its inception. Some of CMH’s acclaimed artist offerings are Strummin’ with the Devil: The Southern Side of Van Halen featuring David Lee Roth, Heart Trouble by the Queen of Rockabilly, Wanda Jackson, and The Nashville Acoustic Sessions featuring Raul Malo, the voice of the Mavericks and a recently-released musical celebration of legendary country fiddler Johnny Gimble featuring Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Garrison Keillor. Over the years the CMH Label Group established several distinct labels to house new formats and artists, including, Rockabye Baby!, which creates lullaby renditions of rock classics that have struck a chord with fans and critics alike and have been seen on the pages of The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Entertainment Weekly. OCD International put out The Return of Dr. Octagon from infamous underground rapper Kool Keith, while Dwell Records is home to a wide range of respected metal acts. The Vitamin String Quartet’s unconventional string interpretations of cutting-edge rock and metal have made them a recognizable name in their own right over the last decade. Hushabye Baby transforms country songs into instrumental lullabies, while Modern Meditations releases transcendent meditative renditions of rock classics. Past, present and future, the CMH Label Group continues to dedicate itself to releasing diverse and important music and creating innovative concept albums.
