John

John is an old buddy Tony’s - they went to high school together. The way they grew up, as upper middle class private school kids in Houston, there’s a certain path laid out for you. We hold nothing against that path at all, but for Tony and John, it just wasn’t them. John became a commercial salmon fisherman in Alaska (and an artist), Tony became a musician. Because of that, they’ve always been kindred spirits - “seekers, searchers, and drifters”, so to speak. This tune is John’s story but is written for anyone that has those same forces working within them.
