Through the Dark
Watch those tears run down her face
Running down like it’s a race
Trembling hands they touch the ground
Common words just won’t come out
The feel of the wind is burning now
It flows through the crying now
And don’t you hear it sing, hear it sing

Think before you walk out
Consider quickly but do not shout
Love your foes but love your friends
And hope this soon not end
Hate is surging and cuts to deep
I pray the lord my soul to keep
Help me through when life bends sharp
But please protect me through the dark

Life is just to short to hate
Why don’t we all just take a break
Appreciate what’s good and true
I’m counting on you to get me through
When God calls each of us by name
Let’s lift our heads without shame
And help me through when life bends sharp
But please protect me through the dark
