Mustangs Like Her
MUSTANGS LIKE HER Wayne Thomas
She was a beauty, with a spirit oh so wild
And when she came to me, I was careless as a child
She swept me off my feet like a wind that never dies,
To tame a mustang like her takes time.
The love I have for her is dangerous I know,
It makes me vulnerable, and sometimes it even shows
You can’t ride a wild heart if you’re scared to let it go
Mustangs like her need room to grow.
Run with the wind my love until you get enough
Then come to the stable where you’ll feel my loving touch
You can still be free tied to my reins and saddled up,
Mustangs like you need a cowboys love.
There’s no corral strong enough to keep her settled down
You have to let her run the plains and hope she’ll come back around
Pray someday she’ll realize that love is what it takes
A mustang like her is worth the wait.
