Marla and I wrote this song about 4 years ago on her patio in Joelton. It was a beautiful fall morning, and she said, "Let's write a fair weather song..fair weather friends." I said "Unfair Weather!!" and that was that. Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard made my life, when they recorded this song and included it on the Django & Jimmie album earlier this year.
