Written immediately after "Big Time Losers Blues," (cut 7 on this album) in December of 2020 to soften the message after delivering the blunt singing facts. Though Big Time Losers Blues offers an off ramp toward the end of the lyrics, Better Angels Prayer "is" the off ramp. These two songs are bookends to the rest of the material. They are both slow blues piano arrangements with harmonica solos all in A minor. Both with the same bass line and in the same mode. So in some way these songs go together ... and that's how they were written ... but if I put them together we would have an 18 minute song. LOL!
