"I was inspired to write this song one cool December morning when I walked out onto our ice rink in the back yard drawn outside from the strong pull of the winter sun. I just stood there basking in the warmth of the sun's rays while they bounced around beautifully off the tranquil ice. I thought about how different New Englanders feel about the sun in the winter time. How much more we cherish it and appreciate it beyond the expected shinning in the summer months.
