About “Carnival” –

Carnival was written after attending a waterfront festival along the
shores of Lake Erie in Buffalo, NY a few years back on a 4th of July
weekend. The day I attended, one of my friends happened to be playing in
the headline band, playing just as the sun was setting over the lake, with
the skyline of the city beginning to light up. Afterwards there was an
amazing fireworks display over the water, with each burst reflected in the
lake. It was just a wonderful experience that stayed with me and came out
in this song.
