"Family"

By Glen Roethel & Sue Riley (from Glen's new CD, Unfolding on Inspireline)

I have a good friend who didn't get along with his father and mother at all, so as a young teenager he chose another family, moved in, learned about life and business and became an amazing and successful adult.

That's just one way that I have seen to go beyond a family of origin and find the wholistic nourishment that a young person needs.
In July of 1974 my two brothers and I were adopted by Lou Roethel and his amazing wife, Barbara. At 12 years old I was the youngest; the oldest was 16. It was most certainly a journey of a lifetime - still unfolding - marking a new beginning for us all, and inspiring overwhelming feelings of gratitude in me. You can hear more about it here in my new song, "Family." It's a true story. My true story.

Thank you, Dad, for making me possible, Happy Father's Day, with so much love. Your grateful son, Glen.
