Eric Bannan - Shoes To Fill
Shoes to Fill

When I was two, stepped into my daddy's shoes
went stomping on down the hall.
There was lots of room, broken in and shaped like him
Did my best not to fall
As I grew, I never fit those shoes
Took off to find my own.

Chorus:
Years go marching by their footsteps never falter
History gets handed down to sons and daughters
You can toe that line or fight your way up hill
You've still got shoes to fill

Now my son's three and he's just like me
Doing everything I do
Watching me shave, he thinks I'm so brave
and every word I say is true
As he grows, so much don't know
I wonder what his future holds

Bridge
Some day he'll go his own way
Can't help wonder what my dad would say
If he was standing here today
