Glen Roethel - Pumpkin Street

Pumpkin Street

she's the little girl livin' on pumpkin street
in her pretty room, all pink and lace
across her window sill
the golden sun comes spilling in
to paint a smile on her rosy face

she's the little girl livin' on pumpkin street
where all the trees lean to one side
when gentle breezes blow
the trees all dance with their shadows
as the sun sets way down low

time will never find this place
loving memories fill this space
catch a firefly, then - let him fly away

he's the little boy living on pumpkin street
he shares his toys with the little girl
from their field of grass
they watch the sun float past on a cloud
as it travels 'round the world

starlight, moonbeams
lacy curtains softly swaying
moonlight and sweet, sweet dreams
echoes of the neighbors saying...

"look at those two - so cute!"
"maybe one day they will wed"
it didn't mean a thing then
but now she wears my ring, and
i'm remembering what they said...

time will never find this place
loving memories fill this space
catch a firefly, then - let him fly...fly away
'til the sky is filled with fireflies -
black velvet and diamonds in the night

now she's my little girl livin' on pumpkin street
