It’s a cold dark mornin’
I walk out to greet the dawn
There’s a Northern wind a’ blowin’
For the one I loved has gone
She left this world a wild one
Though I begged her please to stay

She wore the saddest smile in town
She wore flowers in her auburn hair
And a plain white linen gown
