The sun was sinking to the west, a crimson ball of flame
Out on the steep and narrow ledge, stepped young Eli Kane
No mortal soul will ever know what went through his mind
That fateful night he took his life… beneath the blood red sky.

Far beneath Eli’s feet lay the ocean floor
A place of peace and relief that he’d been longing for
He stood there till the urge he felt, could no more be denied
Then Eli jumped and it was done… beneath the blood red sky

Eli wrote no goodbye note, he gave no last farewell
His secrets lay beneath the waves, where no mortals dwell
They claim his ailing mother came down to the sea each night
