Thought I was over it all then the other shoe dropped
I lost my bearings but now I'm finding my way

There's a little cafe off of 2nd Street
Been waitressing every day since she was seventeen
Said feeds me her stories, her half swallowed dreams
All of these plans that I had, well you know how plans go
I had a child with this boy, where dad is no one knows
And it left me so bitter, now I'm tired of the cold
