My grandpa grew up near Wilshire and Vine
City of Angels, back in the time
He got around on that red car line
He really loved that California life

My daddy stayed and he worked off his tail
Come Friday he’s ready to sail
Out of San Pedro into the night
He just loved that California life

Well I like the Midwest but they’re kind of straight
I did the East Coast I couldn’t relate
People out there seemed a little uptight
They don’t get this California life
