Elaine wrote this about a guy who broke her heart. The song was her therapy and her way of moving on. Everyone goes through what she went through at some point in their lives. This song is written from the girl’s perspective, and basically says: ‘I’m done with you getting my hopes up and saying all I want to hear, just to bring me back down again – so here it is, right back at you.’ (LEE)
