Six o’clock Monday morning
Start the working week again
Pour my second cup of coffee
Wishin’ I could stay in bed
Off to work stuck in traffic
Freeway’s backed up once again
News man’s talking on the radio
Shakes the weekend from my head

We might never play in Nashville
Never win a Gold Guitar
We might never be on TV
Photographed with movie stars
But we like playin’ country music
Hanging out with our friends
We like living for the weekend
And hope the fun will never end
