Biography
At an early age, Lionesse knew music was her first love. Born into a musical family much like the Winans and the Clark sisters of Detroit, Michigan; singing and dancing was in her blood.
Everyone from schoolteachers and peers, to godmother Martha Reeves of Motown fame (“Dancin in the Street”) encouraged Lionesse to practice in order to grab attention with her love for all genres of music,
energy, talent, and charismatic stage presence. She began writing and arranging songs at age ten, along
with taking dance classes to sharpen her performance skills.
Lionesse attended Detroit High School for the Fine/Performing Arts, not unlike the late Aaliyah and other great performers. Throughout high school, she participated in numerous singing groups, choirs, and ensembles. She began dancing for a group signed to Biv 10 records under the leadership of Michael Bivins from New Edition. After high school, Lionesse opened Hip Hop Nation, LLC dance school, Instructing and choreographing for many aspiring youth and talent.
Pop/R&B single ‘Me Or My Money’ EP was released independently under her own production company, Ms. Kane Production in June of 2007. Lionesse completed and released her first album ‘Year Of The Lionesse’ in July 2008. As a songwriter, she has penned songs recorded by major recording artists such as Latocha Scott formerly of Xscape. (Solo Flight 404)
Now based out of Las Vegas, She performs in casinos with live bands and continues to promote the album ‘Year Of The Lionesse’ which is available on Itunes, Rhapsody, CdBaby, and many other internet sites while working on the follow-up album ‘Untamed." The relaunch of the website www.IAmLionesse.com is coming soon along with a hot new music video for the first single “Come Inside.” Lionesse is a triple threat; writer, singer, choreographer…and she’s definitely a force to be reckoned with!
