Blue Ridge Mountain Sky
Well it's a lonesome road
And a hard way to live
But it's the only life I know
Met some people
Traveling around
But home's always the best place to go
And it's a lonesome feeling in my mind
Feeling I can't seem to leave behind
Carolina's where I'm at
And I'll always hang my hat
Under those Blue Ridge Mountain skies
Well there's an old man
Sitting in a rocking chair
He's got the best beagle dog in the county so I'm told
But his shotgun
Got a little too rusty
And the beagle dog done got a little too old
As he stares
Up into Heaven
I'm sure I know the reason why
He's thinking
All about that promised land
And them Blue Ridge Mountain skies
And it's a lonesome feeling in my mind
Feeling I can't seem to leave behind
Carolina's where I'm at
And I'll always hang my hat
Under those Blue Ridge Mountain skies
