Sugar
It’s one AM and I’m up again, I’ve got too much on my mind; wondering if I’ll go around the bend from walking the daily grind. There’s shows to play and bills to pay, lives to keep in line. It’ll be this way ‘til the bitter end if I don’t have a change of mind. So give me some sugar, give me something sweet. Give me a cushion ‘til I can get back on my feet. Give me a purpose, give me a guide. I sure could use a little help getting on to the other side.

Stopped to pray the other day, I went down on my knees. I felt betrayed; I didn’t know what to say so I asked for a little peace. Cause I’m tired of being tired, and I’m tired of begging please. But my fire has burned to charcoal grey and I’m begging for a little breeze. So give me some sugar, give me something sweet. Give me a cushion ‘til I can get back on my feet. Give me a purpose, give me a guide. I sure could use a little help getting on to the other side.

I can see it in the distance, like a beacon in the night, the shore of golden promises where lives are burning bright. Give me some sugar, give me something sweet. Give me a cushion ‘til I can get back on my feet. Give me a purpose, give me a guide. I sure could use a little help getting on to the other side.
