Waves
I watch the waves as they hit the shore,
And it’s a mighty kind of current I’ve never seen before,
Just like my tears when they take me by surprise,
In all the hidden crevices they seem to hide.

The storm that causes all the waves to rise,
Is the same storm that’ll get me to the other side,
With all its might, oh it brings me to my knees,
But through it all I never reach the mighty deep.

When we hear the thunder, we can only wonder,
How in all the misery the storm is saving me,
Well, the current’s rising higher, it’s a wicked kind of creature,
But I can see much clearer now through the raging sea.

I feel the shaking of the earth below,
Often wish that if I’d wings I’d fly alone,
But I am sheltered by another’s wings,
And there’s safety and there’s comfort in all they bring.

When we hear the thunder, we can only wonder,
How in all the misery the storm is saving me,
Well, the current’s rising higher, it’s a wicked kind of creature,
But I can see much clearer now through the raging sea.

Because I know I’m not in control,
And the storms may come and the storms may go,
The rain may fall and the winds may blow,
But still I know, but stillI know,
I know the One who walks upon the waves,
So don’t be afraid.

When we hear the thunder, we can only wonder,
How in all the misery the storm is saving me,
Well, the current’s rising higher, it’s a wicked kind of creature,
But I can see much clearer now,
But I can see much clearer now,
I can see much clearer now through the raging sea.
