Christmas Balloon
Little Helen's dad had news and it was bad
Layoffs were coming soon down at the plant
Parents whispering down the hall
Christmas might not come at all

In school next day the children wrote their wishes down
Helen’s crayon drew big letters neat and round
Dear Santa, won't you please
Bring Christmas for my family

Chrous:
A bike with pink streamers on the handlebars
For little Max a choo choo train, for Dad, a guitar
For Mom a new coat and umbrella for the rain
And a tree with tinsel and a star to light up Christmas Day

At the store she asked her mom for a balloon
Bought it herself with coins she’d hidden in her room
Tied the string around her note
Let it go and watched it float

Red dot in the air soared seven hundred miles
Carrying fragile dreams and hopes of a child
Crumpled paper on the ground
Message that a stranger found

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge:
On Christmas Day there was a knock at the door
They opened it to find a man they'd never seen before
He said, "Santa sent these presents and a Christmas tree
For a little girl named Helen and her family"

(Repeat Chorus)
Dreams came true at Helen’s house to light up Christmas Day
