Pickin' on Jesus
Pickin’ on Jesus
Terry LeMaster

In a bar in California, where I spent most my time
I’d pick this old guitar of mine and drink my share of wine
I’d pick out tunes to make you laugh, and sometimes make you cry
I never know the price I’d pay or that someday I’d die

But now I’m pickin’ on Jesus, with some of my friends
I wanna tell you a story, one that never ends
Yes I’m pickin’ on Jesus, with some of my friends
He’s my loving savior; he’s the great I am

Now my kids they did not understand, neither did my wife
Why I did the crazy things I did and threw away my life
So they told me all about Jesus and all about his sacrifice
About his loving forgiveness, well no more sin and strife

But now I’m pickin’ on Jesus, with some of my friends
I wanna tell you a story, one that never ends
Yes I’m pickin’ on Jesus, with some of my friends
He’s my loving savior; he’s the great I am

Now I’ve got a brand new song to sing, I’m pickin’ it out right now
About a God who loved me when I did not know how
So I told him that I love him too, and repented from my sin
Now I’m in real good shape considering the shape I’m in

But now I’m pickin’ on Jesus, with some of my friends
I wanna tell you a story, one that never ends
Yes I’m pickin’ on Jesus, with some of my friends
He’s my loving savior; he’s the great I am
I’m pickin’ on Jesus; he’s the great I am
