The Dream
Song Lyrics for "the Dream"

The Dream:

1st Verse: I had a dream of you last night,
but ain't that funny?
Because I ain't held you for thirty years.

The sky was bright and the future was sunny.
A breeze came in and chased away our fears.

Now we were young and full of magic.
We lived our life on lover's train.
And loss of innocence might seem so tragic,
But loss of love is the worse kind of pain.

Chorus: So I go back to that teenage dreamland,
The only stress was the fun we had.
A wonderful place for my mind to walk through,
walk through.
It brings me peace when I'm feelin' sad.

2nd Verse: Now I spent some time with no one to hold me.
And no one to tell me it would be okay.
And being single may have it's good points...
good points.
But you're still alone at the end of the day.

Chorus: So I go back to that teenage dreamland,
The only stress was the fun we had.
It's a wonderful place for my mind to walk through,
walk through.
It brings me peace when I'm feelin' sad.

Instumental:

3rd Verse: Now I look around and see my family.
And brother, these are blessings that don't come cheap.
I work real hard to build my castle.
With walls of stone, so our love will keep.

But I've learned that walls won't keep your love in.
'Cause love is made from magic dust.
It'll blow away like an old man's memories, memories.
Can only keep it with faith and trust.

Chorus: So I go back to that teenage dreamland,
The only stress was the fun we had.
It's a wonderful place for my mind to walk through,
walk through..
It brings me peace when I'm feelin' sad.
It brings me peace when I'm feelin' sad.
It brings me peace when I'm feelin' sad.
