Sweet Sweet Honey!
Track 13
Aisha Kahlil: music, arrangement
Kristen Arent: percussion

re: celebration
Somewhere between a rap and a chant, with lively percussion accompaniment, the ladies of Sweet Honey In The Rock celebrate their group and the concept behind their name: "Sweet Honey speaks of a land that is so rich when you break the rocks open, honey flows. And we thought it was something like us African-American women . . . strong like a rock, but inside [there’s] honey – sweet,” explains member Louise Robinson.
Liners notes:
"I composed this chant as a tribute and celebration of
Sweet Honey’s 40th Anniversary."
