I Don't Want No Trouble at the River, w/When Great Trees Fall poem by Dr. Maya Angelou
Track 3:
traditional, new arrangement by Carol Maillard; poem by Dr. Maya Angelou
Re: racism and hate crimes
A traditional gospel song that incorporates Dr. Maya Angelou's poem "When Great Trees Fall" in a version dedicated to the nine murdered victims of a hate crime at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C., in June 2015, which reminds us that, after great spirits pass, “we can be and be better for they existed.”

Liner notes:
"We dedicate this song, infused with the poem “When
Great Trees Fall” (written by Dr. Maya Angelou, from her collection "I Shall Not Be Moved"), to the nine innocent lives taken at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17, 2015."
