Goin’ Home to See My Baby
(Jack Hicks and Sharon White - Shayjak Music, BMI)
Guitar: Bo Isaac
Banjo: Jack Hicks
Mandolin: Jonathan Rigsby
Bass: Randy Thomas
Jack: “We wrote that banjo instrumental back in the ‘70s and used to pick it all the time with the Whites, but it’s never been recorded. I modernized it a little with the slower introduction.” Listen closely and you’ll hear that Jack’s first banjo inspiration was Eddie Adcock, and that he has also been exposed to Alan Munde, Tony Trischka, Bela Fleck, Jimmy Arnold, and the almost-extinct classical banjo style that Andy Boarman used to play in early festival jam sessions.
