from versions sung by Joan Baez, Chicago-based folksingers Andrew Calhoun and Kat Eggleston, and Portland singer Mary Gun. The
Lebanese melody is one of Eddie's contributions: before migrating to Portland in 1985, he spent endless hours listening to international
radio programs in his native New York City area, which is he how he came to learn this tune.
