The Midnight Honky Tonk Queen
The Midnight Honkey Tonk Queen

She was playing every tear jerker on that honkey tonk jukebox she's a genuine graduate from the school of hard knocks. She falls in love on Saturday night to the tune of “Your Cheating Heart”
she's praying to be rescued from the night shift at Wal-mart.

(chorus)
They call her the midnight honkey tonk queen sometimes she's a nightmare sometimes she's a dream.
Her subjects all admire her she knows every song and step but when she calls your name boy, you better pray for a little help.

Now the Levi's that she was wearing was two sizes to small but me and old Jack Daniels thought she's got it all. Just watch her sway I heard him say Oh those country charms you know that little filly belongs in your arms. Well your right Jack I won't talk back she's an angel plain to see
she's got wings she's a country queen she's just the one for me. So I just waltzed right on over tipped my hat and said, “Howdy ma'am.”
That's when a raspy voice spoke back to me and said, “Hot Damn.”

Chorus

Now I could tell what she was thinking she looked at me like a piece of meat. I swooned I guess, my knees got weak but she latched on before I could retreat
As she drug me to the dance floor with her mighty strong right hand the air of that dance hall filled with the sound of “Stand By Your Man.”
Well I have to say she was a little bigger than what I first thought and I was a little disappointed to see her teeth was store bought. But I told myself it could be worse you can make it through. I just about had myself convinced that I could do it to.
That's when she started singing to me she looked down at me and said Oh you've got a tear in your eye but in the morning there'll be no need to cry.

chorus

Now I've faced some bucking bronc's and raging bulls in the rodeo. I ain't never lost my nerve not once always heel and toe. But I could hear myself screaming like a little girl when I broke for the door.
Lord help me Jesus I just can't take it no more!
