Somewhere along the line Tom picked up an old tape on which fiddler Fred Cockerham was accompanied by a great three-finger banjo player named Smith. Years later, he was delighted to learn that the banjo player was Kyle Dean's father, Kyle Dean "Snake" Smith, Sr., who provides the banjo work on this local standard. Good friend and wonderful singer Jina Rosencrans happened to be in the studio and joined in on the chorus.
